Unfortunately, due to his immense brainpower, and his irritating nature, Theo and Otto decide to put him to good use, forcing him to help them with their top secret plans!

"Vincent", the Stanier Mogul (BR No 42977)
"Vincent" is a Stanier Mogul, living on the Settle & Carlisle line.
He is a skeptical engine, who rarely beleives what the Dark Railway engines say! Despite being a hard worker, he is often thrashed to an inch of his life by his superior, Mr Mckenzie, and never gets a proper rest!

"Mr Andrew Cabral Mckenzie" is the stern manager of the S&C.
He is rather surprised to meet the Dark Railway engines, especially Raymond, as he has never seen a BR Class 47 before! However, he ends up helping the Dark Railway engines out, unintentionally supplying them with the vital items that they require to get home!

"Flying Scotsman", the LNER A3 Pacific (BR No 60103)
"Flying Scotsman" is a boastful and proud NER A3 Pacific.
Dave meets him during their stay on the Settle and Carlisle Railway, and, despite a troublesome start, become good friends during the Dark Railway Engine's stay. He is also very suspicious of the engines, as they appear to act very strangely in front of him!

"Hunter the Shunter" is a small Andrew Barclay Shunter.
He meets Theo and Otto during their time in Carlisle, and reveals that he is, obviously, a Hunter, being contracted out to find things for engines and people. Unfortunately, he is a gambler, and takes out many loans without paying them back, as well as being a petty thief...

"Victor" is an overly aggressive and extremely violent Loan Shark.
Along with his twin, Ludo, Victor gives out loans with extortionately high interest rates to people and engines, as well as running their own salvage yard. He is unfortunate enough to come into contact with the Dark Railway Engines!

"The British Railways Men"
"The British Railway Men" are four members of the British Railways Board, who are investigating new methods of Transport for British Railways during 1953, as well as managing the funding of the Settle and Carlisle Line.
They are very impressed by "Diesel Prototype No 47527" on a test run, and immediately take photographs and draw up plans to build simillar engines, thus, Raymond accidentally causes his own class to be built in the first place!
